The New Paltz Fire Department is actively seeking local residents who want to serve their community. Below is a description of the process needed to become one of our members.
Upon submission of the application you will be contacted by the membership committee where you will be interviewed for membership. After the interview, your application will be sent out for an arson background check. Once completed you will be contacted by a line officer to report to the firehouse to be given information on where to obtain the department physical. (Physical is free of charge). The applicant will then be placed under probationary status for a period of one year. All members MUST complete one of the basic training programs before obtaining active status and coming off of probation.

Applications can be picked up at the Fire Station at 117 Henry W Dubois Drive on Monday evening between 6:30pm and 9pm or see the download at the bottom of this page. All applications can be mailed in or dropped off in person to the Fire Station.
